Fixed Tag is found under CONFIG > OPTIONS > Fixed Tags

It is important to obtain consistency when manually tagging WorkSpaces. You can achieve this with the fixed tagging functionality.

This option is not seen by default, unless specifically enabling it on Options > Settings, in the additional options section:

To be able to assign tags to user WorkSpaces, the portal administrator needs permission to do so via a role. Roles can be accessed in the portal under (Roles > Options). SysAdmin permissions have this permission by default.
In the role below, you can see that the role assigned to an administrator only allows them to add tags.

After enabling it, we can add which tags are going to be mandatory and possible values for it.

For purpose of this demo we will create a tag called Cost Centre and populate with different Cost Centres in an organisation. First, select ‘Add Tag Name’ from the menu.

Then add ‘Cost Centre’ as the Tag name and t select the ‘Fixed Tag Values’ option and ‘Save’. If you don’t select this, then you can assign that tag, but you will have to type in a value (for example, something unique like an alternative email address, mobile number, etc).

Navigate back to Fixed Tags and select ‘View’ next to Cost Centre and you will see no tag values are shown as we have not created one. Select ‘Add Tag Value’ from the menu option.

Start adding your fixed tags. Add one and then select ‘Save’. You then repeat the process to add others and you will see them as Tag Values against the Cost Centre tag. You can also delete tags here too.

You can now add a fixed tag to a user’s WorkSpace. We will add the Country of United Kingdom to a user’s WorkSpace. Navigate to a users WorkSpace in the portal. Select ‘Manage Tags’ from the menu.

You will now see there is a defined tag that now exists. Select ‘Cost Centre’ from the drop-down box you will see the list of fixed tags. Select GB-123 and ‘Save’.

There is also a feature to delete existing tags in a bulk mode:

You will be asked to enter the value for the tag twice.
